Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022

Celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in Eccleshall

In 2022 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of duty.  Such a Jubilee is unlikely ever to be repeated so this was a very special occasion for us all to rejoice for the life and service of our wonderful Queen.

To mark this momentous milestone in British and Commonwealth history, Eccleshall Parish Council brought together an amazing array of events for all ages which gave every resident the opportunity to participate in at least one activity across the four day celebration.  These events ranged from the symbolic lighting of the beacon to musical entertainments, children’s activities, delicious meals, church services, competitions, displays and culminated in the ‘Party on the Street’ on Sunday, 5 June.

Some events were arranged by local residents and organisations, others sponsored by local businesses, and some planned by the Parish Council.

The Parish Council thanks everyone who helped to make the events such a success, giving residents of all ages an opportunity to celebrate in style and, hopefully, remember the fun and joy of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for years to come.

The Parish Council commissioned a short Jubilee film (click here for link)  compiled from some of the events

We also have a selection of the event photographs
